Russell Brand ready to take America by storm

Russell brand is a busy man, his resume includes English columnist on radio and television personality, comedian, actor and newspapers. Although he enjoys massive popularity in the UK, he is relatively unknown in the United States. But the known Schürzenjäger is now trying to establish himself as a star in America. Otherwise than the way British soul singer Amy Winehouse influenced the music scene last summer with your retro look and sound which clearly coiffed brand is a great personality that could be a movie star in the making.

"I heard once Matt Groening, who say that a great cartoon character has to be recognized by its silhouette", says brand in joke about his rocker threads and gravity-defying hair.

But it's brand's ability to shoot that grabs his comedic peers and the public from the hip.

Success came quickly for brand that attended the famous drama Centre in London, an institution, the comedian labeled "a get naked and cry drama school."

After playing a few gigs in 2000, "Theatre, I found myself at an audience of 1,000 at the London Hackney Empire" he explains.

Soon after the fire was a host for MTV in the United Kingdom and the British version of "Big Brother". Mark has also had misfires. He was fired by MTV notoriously once for dressing up as Osama bin 12 laden to September, 2001. But his dark past has made him into a rock star as legend type. He revealed his wild appetite for all types of illegal drugs and fast women in his hilarious, sometimes brilliant and always forgiving autobiography, My Booky Wook, which was a huge bestseller in the UK last year. He says in my Booky Wook: "My life is just a series of embarrassing incidents strung together by people telling about those embarrassing incidents."

You in 2006 he happens click on his MTV talk show to interview Adam Sandler "1 Leicester Square", and followed a friendship. He recently recently a lot of time in LA was spending because he is cast as Adam Sandler sidekick in a movie called bedtime stories.

Brand credits Sandler with importing it to the States, introducing him to his current agent, Adam Venit, and get it before the Judd Apatow. On the casting session for Forgetting Sarah Marshall, British comedian confessed that he succeeded only take a "glimpse" the script. Then he added with a flourish, "Mind you would me to say what's at stake?" The brand filter-free personality ultimately inspired producer Judd Apatow and headline writer Jason sails, the role of Aldous snow rewrite the rock star Kristen Bell steals away in the recent "forgetting Sarah Marshall." Apparently, before brand has been converted, the character to be meant was "a bookworm type of the author's" brand revealed recently, "but wrote the part for me, gave me loads to improvise from room". Before you started, rehearsed shooting of the film last summer in Hawaii for two weeks, "so it was time to develop the character - or in my case, the character... until it's undevelop just like me".

The character not far from his true self designed by fire: Frank, a former heroin addict and sexually blatant with a play on his rocker mates Morrissey and Noel Gallagher. Brand is snow in Apatow's next production, "get him to the Greek," a dirty take on revive "Almost of famous."

His weekly football column for the newspaper, the write brand guardian, kept. He is a different set of pond country for Channel 4, some stand-up and another book. Also he is to South America to make a documentary about "Revolution" and how Venezue lan President Hugo Chávez, making people if it others like Hugo Chavez. And he and the Director Michael Winterbottom finished the first draft of a script from My Booky Wook have adapted.

Mark white, that always matched what works with live audience crucial to its success or failure in America. What was more successful than maybe all modern comedian able to do, fire, strip is removed all borders between his private and public personas.

"Stand-up is the spine of everything I do, it's me in a relationship with an audience because this is, what I like best where there no filter," he says. "My intention is to do movies in tandem with stand-up comedy." The models are Allen, Steve Martin Pryor, Woody rich ARD. There is a clear template in the American entertainment that exists in the United Kingdom. "Pryor, really, he's my hero in all of this."

Should your child watch television news? Surprising opinions of top of anchors

KIDS AND THE NEWS

More than ever, children witness innumerable, sometimes traumatizing,

news events on TV. It seems that violent crime and bad news is unabating.

Foreign wars, natural disasters, terrorism, murders, incidents of child abuse,

and medical epidemics flood our newscasts daily. Not to mention the grim

wave of recent school shootings.

All of this intrudes on the innocent world of children. If, as psychologists

say, kids are like sponges and absorb everything that goes on around them,

how profoundly does watching TV news actually affect them? How careful do

parents need to be in monitoring the flow of news into the home, and how can

they find an approach that works?

To answer these questions, we turned to a panel of seasoned anchors, Peter

Jennings, Maria Shriver, Linda Ellerbee, and Jane Pauley--each having faced the

complexities of raising their own vulnerable children in a news-saturated

world.

Picture this: 6:30 p.m. After an exhausting day at the office, Mom is busy

making dinner. She parks her 9-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son in front

of the TV.

"Play Nintendo until dinner's ready," she instructs the little ones, who,

instead, start flipping channels.

Tom Brokaw on "NBC News Tonight," announces that an Atlanta gunman

has killed his wife, daughter and son, all three with a hammer, before going on

a shooting rampage that leaves nine dead.

On "World News Tonight," Peter Jennings reports that a jumbo jetliner with

more than 300 passengers crashed in a spinning metal fireball at a Hong Kong

airport.

On CNN, there's a report about the earthquake in Turkey, with 2,000

people killed.

On the Discovery channel, there's a timely special on hurricanes and the

terror they create in children. Hurricane Dennis has already struck, Floyd is

coming.

Finally, they see a local news report about a roller coaster accident at a New

Jersey amusement park that kills a mother and her eight-year-old daughter.

Nintendo was never this riveting.

"Dinner's ready!" shouts Mom, unaware that her children may be terrified

by this menacing potpourri of TV news.

What's wrong with this picture?

"There's a LOT wrong with it, but it's not that easily fixable," notes Linda

Ellerbee, the creator and host of "Nick News," the award-winning news

program geared for kids ages 8-13, airing on Nickelodeon.

"Watching blood and gore on TV is NOT good for kids and it doesn't do

much to enhance the lives of adults either," says the anchor, who strives to

inform children about world events without terrorizing them. "We're into

stretching kids' brains and there's nothing we wouldn't cover," including

recent programs on euthanasia, the Kosovo crisis, prayer in schools, book-

banning, the death penalty, and Sudan slaves.

But Ellerbee emphasizes the necessity of parental supervision, shielding

children from unfounded fears. "During the Oklahoma City bombing, there

were terrible images of children being hurt and killed," Ellerbee recalls. "Kids

wanted to know if they were safe in their beds. In studies conducted by

Nickelodeon, we found out that kids find the news the most frightening thing

on TV.

"Whether it's the Gulf War, the Clinton scandal, a downed jetliner, or what

happened in Littleton, you have to reassure your children, over and over again,

that they're going to be OK--that the reason this story is news is that IT

ALMOST NEVER HAPPENS. News is the exception...nobody goes on the air

happily and reports how many planes landed safely!

"My job is to put the information into an age-appropriate context and lower

anxieties. Then it's really up to the parents to monitor what their kids watch

and discuss it with them"

Yet a new study of the role of media in the lives of children conducted by

the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation reveals that 95% of the nation's children

ages 8-18 are watching TV without their parents present.

How does Ellerbee view the typical scenario of the harried mother above?

"Mom's taking a beating here. Where's Dad?" Ellerbee asks.Perhaps at work,

or living separately from Mom, or absent altogether.

"Right. Most Moms and Dads are working as hard as they can because we

live in a society where one income just doesn't cut it anymore,"

NBC News correspondent Maria Shriver, the mother of four--Katherine,

13, Christina, 12, Patrick, 10, and Christopher, 6--agrees with Ellerbee: "But

Moms

aren't using the TV as a babysitter because they're out getting manicures!"

says the 48-year-old anchor.

"Those mothers are struggling to make ends meet and they do it because

they need help. I don't think kids would be watching [as much TV] if their

parents were home organizing a touch football game.

"When I need the TV as a babysitter," says Shriver, who leaves detailed TV-

viewing instructions behind when traveling, "I put on a safe video. I don't mind

that my kids have watched "Pretty Woman" or "My Best Friend's Wedding"

3,000 times. I'd be more fearful if they watched an hour of local news. That

would scare them. They might feel: 'Oh, my God, is somebody going to come

in and shoot me in my bedroom?'"

In a move to supervise her own children more closely since her husband,

Arnold Schwarzenegger, became Governor, Shriver

scaled back her workload as Contributing Anchor to Dateline NBC and set up

her office at home: "You can never be vigilant enough with your kids," she

says, "because watching violence on TV clearly has a huge impact on

children--whether it's TV news, movies, or cartoons."

This view is shared by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent

Psychiatry, which states: ""TV is a powerful influence in developing value

systems and shaping behavior...studies find that children may become immune

to the horror of violence; gradually accept violence as a way to solve problems;

and resort to anti-social and aggressive behavior, imitating the violence they

observe."

Although there are no rules about watching TV in 49% of the nation's

households, TV-watching at the Schwarzenegger home is almost totally

verboten:

"We have a blanket rule that my kids do not watch any TV at all during the

week," she notes, "and having a TV in their bedrooms has never been an

option. I have enough trouble getting them to do their homework!" she states

with a laugh. "Plus the half hour of reading they have to do every night.

According to the Kaiser survey, Shriver's household is a glaring exception to

the rule. "Many kids have their own TV's, VCR's and video games in their

bedroom," the study notes. Moreover, children ages 8-18 actually spend an

average of three hours and 16 minutes watching TV daily; only 44 minutes

reading; 31 minutes using the computer; 27 minutes playing video games;

and a mere 13 minutes using the Internet.

"My kids," Shriver explains, "get home at 4 p.m., have a 20-minute break,

then go right into homework or after-school sports. Then, I'm a big believer in

having family dinner time. Some of my fondest memories are of sitting at the

dinner table and listening to my parents, four brothers, and my grandmother,

Rose. We didn't watch the news.

"After dinner nowadays, we play a game, then my kids are in bed, reading

their books. There's no time in that day for any TV, except on weekends, when

they're allowed to watch a Disney video, Sesame Street, Barney, The Brady

Bunch, or Pokemon."

Beyond safe entertainment, Shriver has eliminated entirely the option of her

children watching news events unfolding live on TV: "My kids," she notes, "do

not watch any TV news, other than Nick News," instead providing her children

with Time for Kids, [Teen Newsweek is also available], Highlights, and

newspaper clippings discussed over dinner.

"No subject should be off-limits," Shriver concludes, "but you must filter

the news to your kids."

ABC's Peter Jennings, who reigns over "World News Tonight," the nation's

most-watched evening newscast, emphatically disagrees with a censored

approach to news-watching: "I have two kids--Elizabeth is now 24 and

Christopher is 21-- and they were allowed to watch as much TV news and

information anytime they wanted," says the anchor. A firm believer in

kids understanding the world around them, he adapted his bestselling book,

The Century, for children ages 10 and older in The Century for Young People.

No downside to kids watching news? "I don't know of any downside and I've

thought about it many times. I used to worry about my kids' exposure to

violence and overt sex in the movies. Like most parents, I found that although

they were exposed to violence sooner than I would have liked, I don't feel

they've been affected by it. The jury's still out on the sex.

"I have exposed my kids to the violence of the world--to the bestiality of

man--from the very beginning, at age 6 or 7. I didn't try to hide it. I never

worried about putting a curtain between them and reality, because I never felt

my children would be damaged by being exposed to violence IF they

understood the context in which it occurred. I would talk to my kids about the

vulnerability of children in wartime--the fact that they are innocent pawns--

and about what we could do as a family to make the world a more peaceful

place.

Jennings firmly believes that coddling children is a mistake: "I've never

talked down to my children, or to children period. I always talk UP to them and

my newscast is appropriate for children of any age."

Yet the 65-year-old anchor often gets letters from irate parents: "They'll

say: 'How dare you put that on at 6:30 when my children are watching?' My

answer is: 'Madam, that's not my problem. That's YOUR problem. It's

absolutely up to the parent to monitor the flow of news into the home."

Part of directing this flow is turning it off altogether at meal-time, says

Jennings, who believes family dinners are sacrosanct. He is appalled that the

TV is turned on during meals in 58% of the nation's households, this according

to the Kaiser study.

"Watching TV during dinner is unforgivable," he exclaims, explaining that

he always insisted that his family wait until he arrived home from anchoring

the news. "You're darn right they waited...even when my kids were tiny, they

never ate until 7:30 or 8 pm. Then we would sit with no music, no TV. Why

waste such a golden opportunity? Watching TV at mealtime robs the family of

the essence of the dinner, which is communion and exchange of ideas. I mean,

God, if the dinner table is anything, it's a place to learn manners and

appreciation for two of the greatest things in life--food and drink."

Jennings is likewise unequivocal in his view of junk TV and believes parking

kids at the tube creates dull minds: "I think using TV as a babysitter is a

terrible idea because the damn television is very narcotic, drug-like. Mindless

TV makes for passive human beings--and it's a distraction from homework!

"My two children were allowed to watch only a half an hour of entertainment

TV per night--and they never had TV's in their bedrooms. It's a conscious

choice I made as a parent not to tempt them...too seductive..."

Adds Ellerbee: "TV is seductive and is meant to be. The hard, clear fact is

that when kids are watching TV, they're not doing anything else!"

Indeed, according to the National Institute on Out-of-School Time and the

Office of Research Education Consumer Guide, TV plays a bigger role in

children's lives now than ever before. Kids watch TV an average of14 to 22

hours per week, which accounts for at least 25 percent of their free time.

"Dateline NBC" Anchor Jane Pauley, intensely private, declined an interview

to discuss how she and her husband, cartoonist Garry Trudeau ("Doonesbury")

handle TV-watching with their three teens, two of whom are fraternal twins.

But in a written response, she agreed that kids need to be better protected

from the onslaught of violence: "I was a visitor at a public elementary school

not long ago, and was invited to peek in on a fourth-grade class on 'current

events.' The assignment had been to watch the news and write about one of

the stories. Two kids picked the fatal attack on a child by a pit bull and the

other wrote about a child who'd hanged herself with a belt! They'd all watched

the worst blood and gore 'News at 11' station in town. The teacher gave no

hint that she was as appalled as I was. My response was to help the school get

subscriptions to "Time for Kids" and "My Weekly Reader." People need to be

better news consumers. And tabloid TV is very unhealthy for kids."

On this point, Ellerbee readily agrees:"I really do believe the first

amendment STOPS at your front door. You are the boss at home and parents

have every right to monitor what their kids watch. What's even better is

watching with them and initiating conversations about what they see.If your

child is watching something terribly violent, sit down and DEFUSE it. Talking

makes the ghosts run...and kids can break through their scared feelings."

Adds Pauly:

"Kids," she maintains, "know about bad news--they're the ones trying to

spare us the bad news sometimes. But kids should be able to see that their

parents are both human enough to be deeply affected by a tragedy like

Columbine, but also sturdy enough to get through it...and on with life. That is

the underpinning of their security."

"I'm no expert on the nation's children," adds Jennings, " but I'd have to say

no, it wasn't traumatic. Troubling, shocking, even devastating to some,

confusing to others, but traumatizing in that great sense, no.

"Would I explain to my kids that there are young, upset, angry, depressed

kids in the world? Yes. I hear the most horrendous stories about what's going

on in high schools from my kids. And because of the shootings, parents are

now on edge--pressuring educators to 'do something.' They have to be

reminded that the vast majority of all schools in America are overwhelmingly

safe," a fact borne out by The National School Safety Center, which reports that

in l998 there were just 25 violent deaths in schools compared to an average of

50 in the early 90's.

Ellerbee adds that a parent's ability to listen is more important than

lobbying school principals for more metal detectors and armed guards: "If

there was ever a case where grown-ups weren't listening to kids, it was

Littleton. First, don't interrupt your child...let them get the whole thought out.

Next, if you sit silently for a couple of seconds after they're finished, they'll

start talking again, getting to a second level of honesty. Third, try to be honest

with your kid. To very small children, it's proper to say: 'This is never going to

happen to you...' But you don't say that to a 10-year-old."

Moreover, Ellerbee believes that media literacy begins the day parents stop

pretending that if you ignore TV, it will go away. "Let your kid know from the

very beginning that he or she is SMARTER than TV: 'I am in control of this box,

it is not in control of me. I will use this box as a useful, powerful TOOL, but will

not be used by it.' Kids know the difference.

"Watching TV," Ellerbee maintains, "can makes kids more civilized. I grew

up in the south of Texas in a family of bigoted people. Watching TV made me

question my own family's beliefs in the natural inferiority of people of color.

For me, TV was a real window that broadened my world."

Ironically, for Shriver, watching TV news is incredibly painful when the

broadcast is about you. Being a Kennedy, Shriver has lived a lifetime in the

glare of rumors and

televised speculation about her own family. Presenting the news to her children

has therefore included explaining the tragedies and controversies the

Kennedys have endured. She was just eight years old when her uncle, President

John F. Kennedy, was assassinated: "I grew up in a very big shadow...and I

couldn't avoid it," she admits. "It wasn't a choker, but it was a big

responsibility that I don't want my own children to feel." Yet doesn't her 15-

year marriage to megastar Schwarzenegger add yet another layer of public

curiosity close to home? "My kids are not watching Entertainment Tonight--no,

no, never! And I don't bring them to movie openings or Planet Hollywood. I

think it's fine for them to be proud of their father, but not show off about him."

How does she emotionally handle news when her family's in it? "That's a line

I've been walking since my own childhood, and it's certainly effected the kind

of reporter I've become. It's made me less aggressive. I'm not [in the news

business] to glorify myself at someone else's expense, but rather to report a

story without destroying someone in the process. A producer might say: 'Call

this person who's in a disastrous situation and book them right way.' And I'm

like: 'Ahhhh. I can't even bring myself to do it,' because I've been on the

other side and know the family is in such pain."

A few years ago, of course, the Kennedys experienced profound pain, yet

again, when Shriver's beloved cousin, John F. Kennedy, Jr., was killed in a plane

crash, with his wife, Carolyn, and sister-in-law, Lauren Bessette. A blizzard of

news coverage ensued, unremitting for weeks. "I didn't watch any of it...I was

busy, " Shriver says quietly. "And my children didn't watch any of it either."

Shriver was, however, somewhat prepared to discuss the tragedy with her

children. She is the author of the best-selling "What's Heaven?" [Golden Books],

a book geared for children ages 4-8, which explains death and the loss of a

loved one. "My children knew John well because he spent Christmases with us. I

explained what happened to John as the news unfolded...walked them through

it as best I could. I reminded them that Mommy wrote the book and said:

'We're not going to see John anymore. He has gone to God...to heaven...and we

have to pray for him and for his sister [Caroline] and her children."

Like Shriver, Jennings is personally uncomfortable in the role of covering

private tragedies in a public forum: "In my shop, I'm regarded as one of those

people who drags their feet a lot at the notion of covering those things," he

explains. "During the O.J. Simpson trial, I decided not to go crazy in our

coverage--and we took quite a smack and dropped from first to second in the

ratings. TV is a business, so when a real corker of a story like Princess Diana's

death comes along, we cover it. I think we're afraid not to do it. We're guilty of

overkill, and with Diana, we ended up celebrating something that was largely

ephemeral, making Diana more than she was. But audiences leap up!

"I was totally opposed to covering John F. Kennedy, Jr.'s funeral, because I

saw no need to do it. He wasn't a public figure, though others would say I was

wrong. On-air, I said: 'I don't think the young Mr. Kennedy would approve of

all this excess...' But we did three hours on the funeral and it turned out to be

a wonderful long history lesson about American politics and the Kennedy

dynasty's place in our national life.

"Sometimes," Jennings muses, "TV is like a chapel in which we, as a nation,

can gather to have a communal experience of loss.We did it with the

Challenger, more recently with JFK Jr.'s death and we will do it shortly, I

suspect, though I hope not, with Ronald Reagan. It's not much different than

what people did when they went West in covered wagons in the last century.

When tragedy struck, they gathered the wagons around, lit the fire, and talked

about their losses of the day. And then went on. Television can be very

comforting."

In closing, Ellerbee contends that you can't blame TV news producers for

the human appetite for sensational news coverage that often drags on for days

at a time:

"As a reporter," she muses, "I have never been to a war, traffic accident, or

murder site that didn't draw a crowd. There is a little trash in all of us. But the

same people who stop to gawk at a traffic accident, may also climb down a well

to save a child's life, or cry at a sunset, or grin and tap their feet when the

parade goes by.

"We are NOT just one thing. Kids can understand these grays...just as

there's more than one answer to a question, there is certainly more than one

part to you!"

Two used bad news objects that are good signals for equity investors

Despite much negative press gives several indicators that it continued positive progressing to the economy. Of course much of this new is often ignored, especially the bad news brings a lot of relevance and warning expect during this time, where would that only positive news. Overall, this means that investors should most their strategies fit searched are some of these hidden positive information to accommodate. Here are two good news worth consideration:

(1) Which is US dollar is gaining strength. Although the dollar can move only always something on a day to day, his overall trend was so many international companies derived sales outside of the domestic economy, such as PepsiCo, so adjust your profit forecasts for a stronger dollar. This is works converted reviews, other currencies at higher rates during the period of the low dollar. For example, one sale in euro, if the euro at $1.60 US-means more to a company like Pepsi is as if the dollar gains strength and reduced to the point where the exchange rate sales in euros only in the value of $1.45 That's almost a 10% different, a company sales significantly impact, although the number of sold units remaining the same.

Investors who find their equity prices in the short term to reduce customize their stocks may be advisable to less international companies. In this way it is less exchange losses and adjustments that also affect numbers only but the impact shareholder/market sentiment.

(2) The Bank of America is the broker program removal. This could be a positive step for the Bank of America but is a sign that will look for many other banks could make your home loan programs in the House to bring. Not only will these financial institutions ensure you are able to such offers, (therefore reducing provisioning and ensure that appropriate credit underwriting) properly to draw, but it reduced the compensation in Finder fees paid. This could be in a huge drop of costs some lenders to translate in particular the large and Bank of America.

This is a good sign for the economy as it can be seen as a sign, the banks look at the capital to the mortgage company that is expected, start coming with the next economic expansion. For investors, however, it could mean that a closer look at their financial services companies to ensure that you not overly brokerage companies or companies that to much risk home loan will take when this trend of Bank, which were to bring programs in home loans are still exposed throughout the industry.

These are just two of the good message signs, impact on investors. While there are many others, all it takes is for a bit read between the lines for investors to see what could be the implications for your individual portfolios and the market as a whole.

Oh, leave those pesky Prophet, the habit of America alone

Translate Request has too much data

While we reel from the loss of our celebrities and pop icons a Washington based organization known as the TVC (Traditional Values Coalition) is fighting almost a lone battle against the passage of a hate crimes bill that could effectively protect a pedophile but punish a preacher. Finding news about that organizations fight would be very hard to do in the mainstream media. The interest in one story over the other is proof positive that the entire direction and purpose of the nation has changed.

The culture war is no longer a war between the neo socialists and PC advocates who think the war of ideas is won by just being nice and conservatives who don't like America being tinkered with. It has heated up to the level of a social civil war where even though no shots are fired and no blood is shed there are nevertheless real victims and casualties wounded and laying around the perimeters. The saddest thing is that we are too busy following the latest pop craze for it to get to us.

Throughout history the one universal deterrent to the rise of any nation is civil war and strife. It can stop a nation's growth but conversely it can bring it down from the lofty heights of power. In America both our national life and the churches are divided almost to the point of no return. Where is this going?

Some of my articles have ended up on astrology and religious web pages but I did not intend for that to happen. I have put them before the general public in the best online and print publications I could find and purposely declined to submit them to all but a few religious or prophetic sites. This fulfills the calling of my ministry but it also brings the message to the civilian population. It is in that sector that the fate of America will be determined.

I have wasted little time by entering into the church's debate about true and false prophets. Reams of material is available on that subject but unfortunately the church is so busy labeling and putting down the false prophets they have failed to tell the nation who we should be listening to. In that process some certified ministers and their ministries have been hurt ignored or completely destroyed. God doesn't call any of his prophets to play the role of sheriff in the kingdom of God. A true prophet is sent to proclaim not disdain.

False prophets can be cunning and deceitful charlatans but the average American is not easily fooled by them. Those who speak in God's stead for ulterior or spurious reasons are like an eighteen wheeler coming down the road with all the night lights blazing. You can see and hear them coming from miles away.

Some are more subtle than others but certain things remain the same about all of them. The false prophet wants something from you and is very upfront about what that is, usually. How many wonderful offers of new information regarding America have been touted as the deepest, the most shocking and the only legitimate inside info there is, only to be offered to you for the introductory price of $39.95 or more? Is God's message for sale? In a word, never!

Yet sometimes it isn't remuneration that is sought but only mere reaction. Pay attention to me, follow me, come to my church or read my materials are the motive. I wouldn't make it an ironclad rule but my experience has shown that real prophets could care less whether you pay attention to them personally or not.

The single most effective form of false prophecy is not based on a lie but overemphasis on a truth. If I can show you chapter and verse where God wants you to be prosperous and happy I have told you no lies. If after weeks, years or perhaps a lifetime you hear me saying only that, you may need to find another minister.

In a time of deceit, upheaval or encroaching national danger the message of the happy and prosperous life is a distraction that if not brought into balance with other admonitions of equal importance becomes the grand lie of omission. No lie has any genuine prophetic quality even if it is popular.

Many legitimate prophets would prefer to live their own life outside of the public eye. Rather than being anti-social or indifferent it is the knowledge that people are going to approach what they say with skepticism and an attitude of I'll take it or leave it if I want to. Many of the Old Testament prophets actually argued with God about doing the prophet thing.

Some prophets claimed speech impediments, said they were too old, too young, had farms and trees to dress and a plethora of other excuses were offered. One prophet pouted and got mad with God because after preaching the need to repent to one city, (Nineveh) they surprised the prophet Jonah by repenting! He was so reticent to speak to them in the first place that he had his heart and imagination peaked only with the thought of their destruction. A thought he was not ready to let go of easily.

The litmus test of a true prophet is provided in detail in the Bible but two items stand out above the rest. The first is that they will never say anything that God did not say, for any reason. The second is that if the perceived message does not line up with or adhere to the prior revelation (The Bible in its entirety) they will reject it out of hand.

As for the personalities or social standing of the real prophets it is safe to say they come in all sizes and models. Their most basic commonality is that they are 'no respecter of persons.' They are not swayed by dignitaries or the basest of all civilians. Arguments about their message are fluffed off because they realize they are in greater danger if they refuse to tell the message than from the naysayers who may not like the message.

The question that is far more important than true v. false prophecy centers on heeded versus unheeded prophecies. Most legitimate messages aren't rejected they are simply ignored. Even after healing the sick, the blind, the deaf and the dumb and raising some from the dead Christ was forced to say "And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life." (Jn 5:40)

There are as many reasons for rejecting true prophecy as there are people. Near the end of time it is the collective reasoning born out of the pop or common wisdom of the day that is the most commonly accepted reason to reject the message. When the right stuff is replaced with fluff and the rap pulls the ear to the trap you can't fool with the cool, that's the pop illusion. The real picture is more like once pop gets to the top, the cool of the cool, is the cool of the fool. Kno-m-sayin?

In a world that has decided that we have evolved from lower forms of animals and we are now on our way to the stars, all appreciable accountability to God has been seriously deferred. Oddly, this too is prophecy. The extended time between the first and second coming of Christ is one of the reasons along with the pride of a bit of new found knowledge about our world that emboldens unbelief in the prophetic promise of God's ultimate intervention and judgment of mankind.

These two reasons coupled with a predicted rise of deviant and prurient interest worldwide are said to close the ears of many millions of unsuspecting victims of the last day's demise of man. The Apostle Peter warned "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." (2Pet 3: 3-4)

In America the new penchant is to claim that the messengers and their message is socially harming or defaming certain people, groups and their respective behaviors. Even while no prophet can actually physically harm another person under the commandment of Christ they feign character assassination, social rejection or as in Canada they need only claim their feelings have been hurt. Poor babies!

Many warnings are now emerging about the rise of the dreaded antichrist and they should be given attention. Unknown by many is that the Bible predicts that the spirit of antichrist long precedes the actual revealing of the man. It doesn't take rocket science to discern what comes from the antichrist spirit. As the word implies it is anything that is opposed to Christ, his gospel and the words and admonitions of his apostles and prophets.

Our President may not be the antichrist but when he claims that the teachings against homosexuality found in the Bible are merely obscure verses that need not be taken seriously, that is the spirit of antichrist. The compunction or the inspiration that guided the nine justices of our Supreme Court to put Roe v. Wade in place against the warnings of scripture that clearly says all life is sacred is antichrist.

When Europe decided to give abortion and virtually every sexual orientation a wide open field and subsequently to disallow membership into the Union if nations didn't comply, that is antichrist. The list is too long to complete here but the result is sure. When enough antichrist inspired rules, laws and popularly accepted notions are in place the only thing left is the actual appearance and seating of the antichrist himself.

To borrow a phrase from the commercial world of free enterprise "you get what you pay for." To use a phrase from writ that even better defines the outcome of the trend toward the antichrist spirit, check out what the Apostle Paul had to say about it. "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:" (2Th 2:9-11)

How convenient is the latest trend among Christians reported by pollster and writer George Barna. Reports are that many are now giving up not only faith in Christ as the one and only way but the belief in a literal satanic personality the Bible refers to as the 'god of this world.' Just in time for the big push toward Armageddon and acceptance of every backward trend civilization can conger.

In America we have grown tired of our prophets and we set aside their warnings that no amount of tinkering with the market, the economy or health care concerns can offset the damage that is being done by America's obsession with sex, pop culture and interests that can only be driven by the oncoming spirit of antichrist. No nation in history ever fell into conflict with God over its economy, it was always their morality. The two are inextricably linked but that may be deeper prophetic utterance than most can bear.

The prophet Jeremiah warned the ancient Israelites for an entire generation that their idolatry, prurient interests and preoccupation with material things would be their demise. In one of his final warnings to them as a few of them tried to escape from the Babylonian (Iraq) King Nebuchadnezzar they protested his prophecies with the retort that they had it pretty good while they were doing all the things Jeremiah said they shouldn't be doing. (Je 44:1f)

They actually could not believe that God would take away all their goodies for what they were doing but associated their behavior with their former economic good fortunate. The very end of their nationhood was dismissed as some sort of bad luck, poor planning, relentless enemies or economic misfortune. Sound familiar?

No perversion is more perfect than to think it is our worst behavior that gets us our wealth and economic standing. The Bible is replete with warnings that only God can bless a nation with wealth and prosperity and only God can take it all away.

In forty years of hearing God speak through the scriptures and through revelation one of the most serious prophecies I was ever laden with has to do with America's economy. I could summarize it in a word, collapse. Poverty will come on this nation as sure as the sun rises, in increments that are in equal and direct proportion to our immorality. Whether I appendage this description with kno-m-sayin or an amen the question remains, is anyone listening?

Learn what black America by Communist China?

When it comes to China, the numbers are really amazing. The Asian giant has the fastest growing economy in the world - an average of 10 percent growth per year for the last 25 years. In contrast to when we grow in the United States by only three per cent, our economists should that good news.

In fact, China is growing so quickly that it expects to build a city the size of New York City every year for the next twenty years. According to World Bank more than 600 million people out of poverty have been considered the past quarter century. For example, 53 percent of the Chinese in poverty lived in 1981. The poverty rate to only 8 percent had decreased in 2001.

Meanwhile, just in case, you have questions were where one almost bankrupt America gets the money to fight unnecessary wars and bailout banks and the automotive industry; the answer is China. The Communist leadership of China's belong to the world's largest buyers of U.S. Treasury bonds and other debt instruments. Before our current economic crisis is over, we will light the Chinese about one trillion dollar debt.

Black America is in stark contrast to advancing China. The Census Bureau (2007 figures), African Americans have the lowest median household income in the nation. Even native Alaska (we call people usually Eskimos) have a higher median household income than we. The reason for the income gap is our lack of business ownership.

According to the small business administration, Blacks have the lowest "business density" (number of enterprises owned per 1,000 people) in the nation. This means that we only economically grow can when some other racial group engaged in for-profit companies and then decides to hire us. Simply put, are we slaves for entrepreneurship of the other.

China is the global economic power that it is today, because 30 years ago, a short chain smoking, bouncy revolutionary named Deng Xiaoping, fought his way to the leadership of the Communist Party and declared that it was time to break with the old ways of doing things. He told a country where wealth as an evil was considered, that "be rich is good."

Deng broke with the stifling Stalinist ideology of the Communist Party founder Mao Tse-Tung and told his people depending on Government had to stop and you had to build-for-profit companies raise China's, then 800 million (now 1.3 billion) People out of poverty. Shared (or more according to "forced") in to rethink, enterprising ways that the Chinese responds by building an economic powerhouse that is currently projected to overtake the United States by 2050 or earlier.

This is what we must do. Our lower classes are also dependent on welfare and handout. Only the poor are our middle classes are too dependent on "good" Government jobs and our rich little more than about paid entertainers and athletes, the intellectually disabled economic leadership and to help if it is to your tax advantage.

We have entered an environment rights period and now must fight for the rights of silver. It must fight an economic improvement primarily on more government handouts but instead on the building and growing companies aligned. Enterprise is the way in the future.

If we build and grow businesses, there is no difference, sits in the White House make. Dependent, we remain first raised disrespected and only scarce on poverty live.

Our economic crisis - is it good news

Open letter to my fellow Americans,

It seems that our situation is dire. It seems that everything fly out of control and apart. As humans we are afraid. We meet our wee bit money and stuff it in our mattresses? We will buy gold bouillon and hide in the back yard? Where will I live? What should I eat? What will happen next? Oh love, oh love the sky is falling.

And certainly as humans, we are looking for someone to blame. Is it the CEO? Is it the President? Perhaps it is the Federal Reserve or the Department of the Treasury. Of God we hunt and find. We provide... pay? You start having enough money to pay or to pay it back. Without relief.

But if a fixed looking for someone to blame, then look no further than your mirrors for you and me - we - all co-creators of this extraordinary period in the history of our are America. We each vote or not vote; Each of us our congressmen and senators, or we wrote our concerns voice. Each of us has every single step of the way in our personal lives as citizens decisions. Like grains of sand on the beach have one after the other, all these decisions in culminated. Are we each culpable and creators in all this. The fault is not the way out, nor is it the way what we face now together. We are here. So, let's start; but before we start creating, let's first break and be still.

The good news is that we are obviously very powerful creators! Witness the variety of casinos seek to which our attention and require concentration. We have it all. How hurricanes IKE and Katrina, fires and floods, looking for ruin, a mess in fact, true debris. I can say that you first-hand experience that we have lost everything. We have everything that counts what; We have yet.

If things are so completely apart in the world, in life, we challenged, is under to comprehend the meaning and the possibility of this moment find also the ruins of the apparitions. Where you are looking for and where to start the questions.

Initially be. Breathe. Things are not what they appear. This is our being born again. This is the opportunity for the Renaissance of our America. The things were that not built or love, or goodness are away, wash, because they no longer serve us yet you do serve where we are heading now. We have new intentions for America. Now, we reach within ourselves and find us.

If we remember who we really are we the people will recall that we are infinite creators. We will not forget that our security and safety never in the world, but all together in all of us, were individually. So even in our Declaration of independence it says:

We hold these truths that all men are created equal. Including it are equipped by their creator with certain inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

We are equally equipped our Godchip at birth every single one of us, a direct, fixed line to wired quantum field which is all way what is source.

What we with our human mind and eyes, look at how rubble is what we have made our human consciousness, separately from its source in fear and lack. If we still and inside the still, small voice heard, we remember who we really are. We are, but within, not without rebuild this time from a place of safety and security based.

Introduce yourself, what we can and will be created when we are no longer fear in our human minds, but if we create from our divinity. This is America, what we have been waiting for: our awakening. Be quiet and listen. It is our play well.

One thing is certain: it is time for all hands on deck. The creative, new and good solutions can come from everyone - you, John and Jane Doe.

There's a very compelling reason for you to seriously consider how you can take charge of your own financial future. The America you imagine in your head is not the America that exists today, and Uncle can't bail you out.

When you think of America, what images come to mind? We all have some iconic view of this country, often involving baseball and apple pies. We see America as the land of the free and home of the brave. But how free is America?

I'm guessing your view of America doesn't involve the Statue of Liberty holding a "For Sale" sign. A symbol that this once-great country is being piece-mealed out to the highest bidder.

The sad truth is that America isn't free. America is bankrupt and being bought in trillion dollar increments by China, Japan, and Middle Eastern oil-rich countries.

Most of us are so caught up in our own daily dramas that we are painfully unaware of what's actually going on in the world. Or even in our own country.

Most people don't even realize that because of the recent financial downturn in the U.S., we are now financially upside down. We are nearly to the point of being unable to recover. The America that once existed is gone. It can never be brought back. We live in a new world, with a new America. And in the not-too-distant future some hard choices are going to have to be made.

This country is spending more than it makes. (Not unlike most of the people who inhabit this country.) When the Obama administration pushed through a $787 billion dollar deficit-spending economic stimulus plan through congress, most of us cheered. We had no idea that the true deficit measured in the trillions of dollars! Would you like a Band-Aid for that amputated leg with severed artery? 'Cuz that's really helpful, don't you think?

This isn't even taking into account the social-welfare obligations Obama has budgeted into the new spending plan. Right now, even just our future obligations to Social Security and Medicare are enough to bankrupt us. According to the U.S. Treasury, the total obligations of the U.S. exceeded a negative $59 trillion in 2007 and by 2008 was over $65 trillion and growing.

There's no way for us to recover even if every American had their income confiscated by the government to get us out of the hole. Several factors have contributed to this growing problem. The baby boomers have essentially crashed our current ability to keep up with Social Security and Medicare. There are just not enough people working now to fund the retirement of that generation. Social Security is funded by the present working generation for those who are retiring. So the money that the baby boomers put into the system is not actually available for them. They're pulling from those of us who are working now. Unfortunately for Social Security, the birth rate dropped with our generation, and so there are fewer workers than those retiring. This means the new generation cannot support the retirement needs of those before us.

The social-welfare entitlement programs in this country have grown beyond our ability to fund as well. At this point in time, there's no funding saved for future Social Security and Medicare either. Worse still are the health care demands in this country. People are living longer lives, and the cost of health care is going through the roof. Couple all this with the mortgage bubble bursting, and the US does not have the reserves to handle the financial crisis it has generated.

Here's the truth: America is for sale. The value of the dollar is dropping. Foreigners are buying up our debt in the trillions, in the hopes that this economy won't collapse to the point of making it worthless. We are quickly moving to a world economy, with America losing its' sovereignty-and its' freedom.

The middle class is also systematically being eliminated. Soon the division between classes will be sharp and painful. The poor and the rich. We outsource so much work from the US to places like India, and what we can't outsource we insource, by allowing immigrants to come in and work for substandard wages and no benefits.

In the aftermath of all of this, we're balancing on a very precarious tight rope. This balancing act can't last forever though. Eventually we will crash even harder than we have already if we don't start looking at the world differently.

So wake up! It's time to set aside your myopic little view of life and see what's happening in the world. Otherwise it will be too late to shape things the way you want. The good news (and yes, there is good news...) is that change can be good. We now get to direct the course of history, by making different choices now. There's no better time to change the rules of the game then when the game is falling apart.

This is why it's so important to shift your ideas about money and investing, and to see the opportunities that exist around you. And it's time to start looking outside the U.S. for those opportunities.

I know some of you are wondering how spending money outside the US can possibly help us here. What you need to understand is that the U.S. needs some fresh blood pumped into its economic veins. That means that Americans need to generate some wealth offshore so they can bring that spending power back to the states. It's the only thing that will save this country.

There are generally two types of people who refuse to invest overseas. The first is the patriot who thinks it's unpatriotic to do so. Again, may I stress that if you really love America, bring some much needed cash back into the country by creating some real wealth in foreign real estate. There's a lot of money to be had this way, and if enough people do it, the influx of wealth into the U.S. will make an impact.

The second type of person is one who just doesn't know how to go about investing overseas. To that person I say; Learn! Learn the importance of overseas investing. Learn how to do it well.

No one can afford to continue living in a fantasy world of what they think America is like. You must open your eyes to the truth of our situation or you will be crushed by it, sooner or later. And at this rate that would be sooner. As we've seen from 2007-2010, gone are the days of investing in one countries economy and thinking it will all be ok. There is no single economy that can hold that level of promise anymore, not even the U.S.

You have to be proactive in securing your present and future economic viability in an increasingly shifting market. To do this you have to broaden your horizons, and find opportunities to create, build and sustain wealth for the long term. As I said, it can't be tied solely to the U.S. or any one nation's economy. Your portfolio has to be robust enough to handle the inevitable market cycles. So when the day comes for you to actually retire, you'll have something there that's real and substantial, rather than insubstantial, overhyped and overinflated. With the latter, one turn in the market and it'll all go up in smoke, as we've all seen recently. We are living through what happens when all your eggs are in one basket, and the basket is dropped. All your eggs break.

If you don't believe me, take a look at the people whose wealth is staggering to us mere mortals. Take George Soros, for example. Soros is a Hungarian-American currency speculator, businessman, political activist, stock investor and philanthropist worth $14 billion according to Forbes. I had the privilege of meeting this economic giant, and here's what makes men like Soros different from the rest of us. He has made a fortune on the downturned economy by investing overseas. He's completely diversified and international and is not at all dependent on the U.S. economy for his economic survival.

Warren Buffet is an American investor, industrialist and philanthropist who is consistently ranked as one of the top three wealthiest men in the world, worth over $47 billion. Do you think he keeps his money tied up exclusively in American real estate and stocks and bonds? NO! He is a contrarian investor who grabs the opportunities wherever they may be. Often that means offshore investing.

Learn from these great men. Learn from men and women like you who may not be worth billions of dollars, but have taken my advice and secured a nice nest egg for themselves by working the international real estate cycles. This is not something that is out of your league to accomplish. And it's not just for the worlds' richest men, either. The opportunities for offshore investing are perfect for the average American who wants to take the reins on their own financial future by securing their own retirement. The American who realizes that Uncle Sam has got his own problems and cannot bail them out of theirs. This is for YOU, in other words.

There are many advantages to investing overseas. The key is to look for countries that have lower property taxes, better financing options and a substantial projected growth so that you maximize the profits on your investments. There are some truly fabulous deals available if we start to look past our own borders. My point in sharing this with you isn't to make you anti-American, or to get you hooked on anti-depressants.

My point is to show you while Uncle Sam won't and can't bail you out of your current economic struggles, you have more options available to save yourself than you know!

It's time to not just get real about what's happening in this country, but to get excited about what's happening in the world around us. These struggles could be blessings in disguise if we use this moment in history to expand our vision of the world and our future by seeing the many possibilities for creating real wealth. It truly is an exciting time to be alive!

Why did the early colonists come to America?

"The colonists came to America, because you heard it was a free country." Came from neighborhoods, which had problems, "says Nathan, age 7."

I wonder if you think Australia instead of America.

"Early American settlers came to America for freedom, God and gold," says Jenny, age unknown.

Legends of gold cities lured some who says earliest Spanish conquerors to America but Natalie, 12, hardship and privation risked many early American colonists religious freedom: "in their countries, it was illegal practice religion the way you wanted." They had to do what ordered their leaders.

"This was a problem because these beliefs were not their own." When you came to America, she founded colonies where you could worship freely. "Dream of freedom is what brought you to America."

American colonization and independence can be explained partly from economic, political and military perspectives; each view that suppresses the desire for spiritual freedom not adequately but explained why people leave their homes for this new land. Question: in the decades before the signing of the Declaration of independence, the name of the man of who spoke with most Americans: George Washington, Patrick Henry, Samuel Adams, Benjamin Franklin.

None of the above. He was not even an American citizen. Helps the? Probably not. Have you ever heard of George Whitefield? I had never, until I read about the great awakening, the Whitefield led on two continents (North America and Europe). Some church historian compare this spiritual awakening spreading the good news in the days of the early Church as Apostles of Jesus took the Gospel in every corner of the Roman Empire.

Whitefield began with clarity and strength that most people had never experienced in the age of 22 to preach the need of being born again by believing in Jesus Christ alone for the eternal redemption. Starting with coal miners close to Bristol, England, took the message to the people by preaching outdoors Whitefield. As he preached, grew the masses. Sunday, March 25, 1739 is estimated 23,000 people in Bristol Whitefield preach heard.

Whitefield sermon came to the first of seven tours to America, he preached courthouse in Philadelphia of the steps. The audience was Benjamin Franklin, who was fascinated with the carrying capacity Whitefield's voice. He carefully entered distance and estimated that 30,000 people could hear him. Although Franklin's Whitefield urge public and personal resisted becoming a Christian, he was printed a lifelong friend of the famous evangelist and his preaching.

By 1736 around 1770, Whitefield preached more than 18,000 sermons, more than an average 10 per week. The effects described Dr. RIMAS j. Orentas: "the universal experience of the great awakening, we began to realize that we were a nation." This national identity rooted in the belief that we a person selected by God for a particular purpose.

"In the earliest prayer of the Puritans was the idea that your colony could be a city on a hill." "Experience the great awakening, the entire nation was a citadel of light in a dark world."

What did God, he can do now. The power of the Gospel has not reduced, but their impact is often of Christians, the good news to share and diluted its impact in your life life. Can you imagine the result if every Christian in America tells only one person per month via the saving power of Jesus?

Is a light on a Hill as a nation begins at home with individual Christians always lights in the workplace and in the community. Type for that let your light shine for an hour on Sunday morning. Live the adventure of take account of the dark spots where it shines brightest of light of the Gospel.

The company was founded in 1992 by James Ridinger and specializes in mass customization. The company's main base is North Carolina in Greensboro, and their products are something unique.

What do you sell

Instead, you have your finger on the pulse of modern consumers and use this information to find hot products then identify manufacturer for the production of this product to work. The product is researched and created by the manufacturer then to the masses via the network distributed un franchisee. It's Thursday June 8, 2006, and the downward trend continues, as we are over the hump of the trading week and the Dow and Nasdaq are still seeing red. But before we head into the world of stocks lets stop on the political front.

President Bush said on Wednesday that all immigrants must learn English, this is a new proposal that he is pushing and looks to gain passage during this midterm election year, but he will have a long road ahead of him as he not only has to win over the Democrats but also members of his own party.

There was a surprise guest on Capitol Hill and that was the founder of Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) Sergey Brin. This trip was an important one as for the first time the company has admitted to compromising their principles when they agreed to censor the Chinese version of Google. He stated that they reluctantly agreed to the censorship once the Chinese Government blocked Google's Chinese version site.

As we are in the heat of midterm elections the topic of gay marriage has popped up again, but is it just at the wrong time. The Senate rejected a gay marriage ban stating that both President Bush and the GOP's lobbying for this passage was out of line. But because this is midterm election time you can expect this to topic to come back to life next month with more fuel on the fire than before.

Now, I'm going to say it again, as an investor you should not, better yet cannot get emotional. Stocks trade up, stocks trade down, and that is the nature of the stock market. Movers and Shakers

Some major movers in yesterdays trading session include Intuitive Surgical (NASDAQ: ISRG) which was knocked down from $116.35 to $107.70 on Tuesday but regained those loses to trade up $4.95 to close at $113.01 on Wednesday. This is the exact reason why it is crucial that you seek out companies that are being dragged down by the market , those companies that have not changed fundamentally.

U.S. Xpress Enterprises (NASDAQ: XPRSA), one of our "Furious Five" features, traded up $1.34 to close at $23.34. As we mentioned recently trucking, rail and transport in general will continue to grow, especially those companies that transport construction material. We mentioned TMM SPA (NYSE: TMM) a Mexico play yesterday and U.S. Xpress is one that will benefit here in the USA.

Target (NYSE: TGT) made some noise on Wednesday after an upgrade by Lazard Capital Markets. The company expects high gross margins in 2006 and basically the quality retail companies are beginning to shine, just look at Sears Holdings (NASDAQ: SHLD).

Other stocks that made moves on the upside include L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) which traded up $3.44 to close at $76.93, Apollo Group (NASDAQ: APOL) which traded up $2.55 to close at $55.47, DSW, Inc (NYSE: DSW) traded up $2.50 to close at $31.65, Life Time Fitness (NYSE: LTM) traded up $2.39 to close at $44.38, Four Seasons Hotels (NYSE: FS) traded up $1.46 to close at $62.58, Las Vegas Sands, (NYSE: LVS) traded up $1.37 to close at $68.00 and Harley Davidson (NYSE: HDI) which traded up $1.34 to close at $49.30.

Under Ten

Now lets take a look at movers in the market under ten bucks, Home Solutions America (AMEX: HOM) traded up $1.14 to close at $7.94 after a rough day on Tuesday but the pressure will still be on the stock in today's trading session.

Peru Copper (AMEX: CUP), this was a pick by our very own Larry Oakley from Wall Street Corner a few weeks back when it was in the low $4 range, so this was a good call, the stock traded up 56 cents to close at $6.72 but it gets better it was halted with news pending at 2.37pm yesterday. Well after the close Peru Copper stated that they requested the trading halt on both the Toronto and AMEX due to a "frivolous" bid that it received from Southern Copper (NYSE: PCU). They were concerned about the stocks unusually trading activity and wanted to stop this in its tracks, but you know what they say where there is smoke there is fire, so keep your eyes on Peru Copper.

American Italian Pasta Company (NYSE: PLB) , if the name doesn't give it away let me tell you , they are a producer and marketer of dry pasta in North America, some brands include Mueller's, Mrs. Grass, Pennsylvania Dutch and Anthony's pasta . Everything from linguini to rigatoni, they do it all, some of their competitors include Barilla Holdings, which is by far the largest pasta maker in the world, yes surpassing the Ronzoni brand.

This has weighed on the company for some time. At one point this was a $51 stock and went as low as $3, it closed down in the $8 range yesterday, so for all intents and purposes this one fell out of bed. They currently have a 52 week low of $3 and a 52 week high of $23.64. Now I need to let you know that they company is losing money, they just reported that revenues dropped 7% in 2005, this is the first time in 12 months that they have given full disclosure of sales figures. But the stock had movement on Wednesday as it traded up 43 cents to close at $8.44, go figure.

Other stocks under ten bucks that made nice moves yesterday include Nitromed (NASDAQ: NTMD) which traded up 40 cents to close at $4.64, Cardica (NASDAQ: CRDC) traded up 37 cents to close at $7.26, DUSA Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: DUSA) traded up 36 cents to close at $4.90 and Lattice Semiconductor (NASDAQ: LSCC) which traded up 32 cents to close at $6.05.

Downers

Some Downers in yesterdays trading session include USG Corp (NYSE: USG) , they are being dragged down with the building materials sector as the stock traded down $8.09 to close at $76.20 on heavy volume.

Veritas DGC (NYSE: VTS) traded down $6.25 to close at $45.37, this is a company that is involved in the information end of the oil business as they supply integrated geophysical information and services to the petroleum industry. Now the stock ran up during the final week of May from $44.81 to close as high as $51.62 on Tuesday. So this pullback could be attributed to market conditions as nothing has really changed with the company. Actually it should be in better shape now as increased drilling in the U.S. is about to ramp up. So use this downturn as an opportunity to find a good entry point.

Diamond Offshore Drilling (NYSE: DO) traded down $4.09 to close at $78.16. Now nothing dramatic has happened with the stock, it is being dragged down by market conditions just like Veritas. Now the stock broke the $79.23 mark and could slip to high $75 to the low $76 range, but you need to keep an eye on the trading on this as it could drop to the mid $77 range and pop back up. Now keep in mind that the stock traded as high as $95.65 in May 2006, so the potential is there. Keep this one on your stock watch.

Other stocks that traded down but shouldn't be down there include U.S. Steel (NYSE: X) which traded down $3.30 to close at $60.61, Schlumberger Ltd (NYSE: SLB) traded down $3.45 to close at $60.51,

Steel Dynamics (NASDAQ: STLD), which traded down $3.26 to close at $53.74, Petroleo Brasileiro (NYSE: PBR) traded down $3.53 to close at $81.80 and Occidental Petroleum (NYSE: OXY) which traded down $3.07 to close at $94.72.

Now some stocks under ten bucks that received the royal smack down on Wednesday include International coal Group (NYSE: ICO) which traded down $1.40 to close at $7.10 on heavy volume, Polyone Corp (NYSE: POL) traded down 54 cents to close at $9.09, Movie Gallery (NASDAQ: MOVI) the stock that shot up on rumors traded down 49 cents to close at $7.01 on over 5.3 million shares traded, Input/Output Inc (NYSE: IO) traded down 46 cents to close at $8.74 on heavy volume and Grey Wolf (AMEX: GW) which traded down 40 cents to close at $7.28 on over 3 million shares traded.

Investors Commentary

And the Readers/Listeners Speak:

Don from New Jersey said: "I've just started to listening to Wall Street to Main Street" and was surprised on how informative it was. A friend of mine turned me on to it and I think that its great, keep up the good work."

Don, thanks for the kind words, its always good to hear that our listeners and readers are finding "Wall Street to Main Street" beneficial. Word of mouth advertising is the best way to go and hopefully all of our listeners and readers will follow your lead and spread the WSMS word.

Daisy from New York asked: "I know that the metals have been coming down lately including copper, do you think that it's a good time to start looking at Southern Copper (NYSE: PCU) as a potential rebound stock?"

Daisy, Southern Copper in 2006 went from a low of $69.36 and closed as high as $105.85 on May 10, 2006. The stock traded down $3.03 on Wednesday to close at $80.72, I'd like to see if it breaks $78 on the downside because at that point it could freefall to the low $70 range before it bounces back. Their mining and smelting activities are primarily in Peru and Mexico, so as you watch this trade you may want to consider Peru Copper (AMEX: CUP).

Andy in Maine said: " I caught your show while I was looking for financial shows on Monday for my iPod and I have to say that I'm glad that I found it, is this show going on national radio and how about television?, hey I'll help produce it"

Andy, I'm glad that you found us, so we welcome you to the growing "Wall Street to Main Street" family, as far as national radio syndication, we're working on that and any assistance that we can get on that end from our listeners is appreciated. As far as a TV show, well that is something that is being kicked around, if we need production help we'll shoot you out an email.

Marie in North Dakota asked: "I came across a new issue by the name of Luna Innovations, and I wanted to know if you thought it was a good play or not."

Marie, Luna Innovations (NASDAQ: LUNA) is a new IPO that went public on June 2, 2006. The stock is relatively new and came public at a time that Vonage (NYSE: VG) created a massive IPO debacle, but Luna stood strong at $6 where they went public. The company researches, develops and commercializes innovative technologies in molecular technology and sensing solutions. I haven't had the time to get my hands dirty and research it, and I am not going to give you an on the fly outlook on whether you should buy the stock or not, it would not be fair to you. So what I'm going to do is try to get the CEO of Luna Innovations on "Wall Street to Main Street" so they can tell you exactly what the company is about and then we can evaluate its value to you.

Thanks for the emails and keep them coming, this is the interactivity that we need to really make "Wall Street to Main Street" work for you.
